Thank you so much for your effort in making the 2007 Inaugural a "once in a life-time" experience. Each events unique and truly represented some of the very best of Kansas. No matter which part of the state we visited, we were greeted with genuine Kansas warmth and hospitality. I was awed by the tremendous team effort required to pull off six successful events in five days. It was incredible. I realize that many of you had to set aside other holiday activities during this holiday season to make sure that this event happened. I will be forever grateful. You were part of history in the making. We had over 10,000 Kansans share in this inaugural experience and celebrate some of Kansas' best. It is my hope that we can continue to build on the sense of family we enjoyed during the inaugural events as we work together to build a brighter future for all Kansans.

Now that Christmas is over, I have time to express my appreciation for the incredible job you did in producing our 90th Anniversary Gala. From the moment you told me of your plan to get sponsors and to have this event in a tent, I was skeptical, to say the least. I really did not believe it could be done. Even a half hour before the guests were arriving, I was worried as I saw chairs and tables still being arranged. But I worried needlessly At 6:30 p.m., everything looked perfect. As the first of my friends arrived, the raves began. Everyone was astonished as they walked through the room of ice sculptures and entered the magnificently arranged ballroom. You could almost hear them gasp as they said, "This is a tent?" During the evening, the planning for the appetizers, the bars, the food, and the orchestra, were perfection, as you know, the music was suppose to end at 11:00, but so many people were enjoying the dancing, we decided to have the band play on. When my friends asked me who did the planning, and I replied, "Ellyn Bold", they could not believe that one person was responsible for the whole event. It is now two weeks later, and everyday one or two people come in and talk about the party. Most of the remarks are something like like these:
"It was the party of the century."
"Kansas City has never seen a party like this."
"I feel honored to have been a part of it."
Yes, Ellyn you proved me wrong. And I am, so glad. Thank you so very much for producing this outstanding event. We look forward to you taking care of our 100th.

I never dreamed anything could exceed my expectations but this truly did. I thought it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended and it was ALL due to you! Your vendors were all fabulous. I can’t think of a word to describe the ambience. You were so right about everything—it is from the lighting (which now I realize had to be) to the sheer drape you look through before dinner, to the curtain behind the band. I can’t think of one thing you left out. The centerpieces were absolutely breathtaking. I thought the prenuptial was great, too. Your idea about the centerpieces was unbelievable! You have really gone of above and beyond and I just don’t know how to properly thank you. You not only made Robin’s dream come true but mine too.
